100% Offline & Zero-Telemetry Tactical Architecture

Privacy Policy for Morser

Application: Morser • Package: com.muraimai.morser • Last updated: September 27, 2026

The Short Version

Morser is built from the ground up as a 100% offline, local-first application. We do not collect, store, share, or transmit any personal data. Morser contains zero tracking SDKs, zero advertising libraries, and zero cloud backends. The application functions completely in airplane mode without any outbound network connections.

Device Permissions & Hardware Access

Morser requests only the minimal hardware permissions strictly necessary for its educational keyer and emergency distress signaling capabilities:

Camera Access (android.permission.CAMERA)

Why it is needed: Strobing the rear camera LED flash as an optical distress beacon and analyzing volatile light levels via the rear sensor for Optical Proximity Guard (auto-shutoff on lens occlusion).

Data handling: No photographs, videos, or image streams are ever saved to disk or transmitted over any network. Frame luminance is computed strictly in-flight in volatile RAM.

Vibration Access (android.permission.VIBRATE)

Why it is needed: Providing tactile haptic feedback for Morse code dits and dahs, straight-key keyer button presses, and silent emergency beacon verification when screen or audio is muted.

Data handling: Vibration pulses interact solely with standard device haptic actuators. No telemetry or logs are generated.

Audio Output vs. Audio Recording

Audio Output Only: Morser synthesizes continuous wave tones locally on your device via standard PCM audio buffers for lesson ear training, straight key feedback, and emergency audio beacons.

Zero Microphone Permissions: Morser does not request microphone permission (RECORD_AUDIO) and does not sample, listen to, or process ambient audio or voice from your device.

Local Data Storage & User Sovereignty

All user configurations and learning progress are stored strictly on your local device using standard Android SharedPreferences:

  • Curriculum Progress: Unlocked lessons, accuracy milestones, and per-character Leitner review levels (0 to 4).
  • Audio & Keyer Preferences: Sidetone frequency (300–1200 Hz), WPM speed, Farnsworth spacing, waveform timbre, and benchmark standard (PARIS or CODEX).
  • Distress Settings: Configured auto-shutoff timer duration and custom emergency beacon message payload.

Data Reset & Complete Deletion

You retain unconditional control over all stored data:

In-App Reset: You can clear your lesson analytics and reset audio preferences to defaults at any time via the in-app Settings menu.

Uninstallation: Uninstalling Morser from your device immediately purges all local configuration files, training stats, and app caches permanently.

Changes to This Policy

If our privacy practices are updated, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Because Morser contains no accounts or telemetry to identify users, review this page periodically to remain informed.
